Peshawar: The Chairman of Pakistan Tehrik Insaf Imran Khan has stated that change is a permanent action and the PTI has taken the responsibility to make change that will pave the way for better pro-people measures in the larger interest of the people.
He said they were imposing a new local government system in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which would empower the people who would then make best decisions for their own.
He was addressing a jirga of the elite of the area after inaugurating Basic Health Centre, Fatehpur and attending briefing on mobile health services, lady health programme and mother child health centers in Swat district on Monday.
Imran Khan said in Pakistan the change had taken its start demonstration of which had been observed during the election process. He said the official machinery was used against the candidates of PTI and its workers were tortured. He said cases of rigging were also made against the PTI workers.
Imran Khan disclosed that on the one hand official machinery was used against the PTI candidates while on the other the PTI government in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remained impartial and thus wrote history of impartiality in the province bye elections.
He said the people had given them votes for change and they had great expectations from them in that direction. He said they were talking about the people. He said in Swat a complete revolution was observed when the people of the district gave their mandate to the PTI and made its young candidates successful in the general as well as by elections.
Imran Khan saluted to the valour and courage of the people of Swat and assured them that all their expectations would be practically implemented and the actual goals would be achieved.
He said in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa hospital to the standard of Shoukat Khanum Memorial would be established soon. He said key changes would be implemented in the education and health sectors. He said the social services sectors would also be reorganized and those would be brought on a par with the people expectations.
The PTI chairman expressed concern over the fact that in the past very intelligent people would come out of the public sector schools but after 40 years the same system was damaged and wrong decisions were made in the education sector which ended the effectiveness of the public sector schools. He said they were implementing such schooling system in which the public sector schools would again start creating intelligent people.
Earlier on reaching the BHU Imran Khan was briefed on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa primary healthcare. He was told that there were 573 BHUs in the 17 districts out of the existing 25 districts in the province.
He was told that those BHUs were run under the Sarhad Rural Support Programme in which 351 male and 78 female doctors had been recruited. The Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, Minister Health Shoukat Ali Yousafzai, Senior Minister Sikandar Sherpao, Jehangir Tareen and Chief Secretary Arbab Shehzad were also present on the occasion.
Briefing Imran Khan and the chief minister Pervez Khattak, the minister health disclosed that to remove the shortage of doctors and nurses in the hospitals, 450 doctors and 550 nurses were being recruited who would also be given hard area allowance so that they could do their duties in the hilly areas easily.
They were also briefed on the different facilities so far going on in the provinces under the Sarhad Rural Support Programme. The doctors also presented their problems to Imran Khan and the chief minister.
Imran Khan told that in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief executives like that of Shoukat Khanum Hospital would be appointed who could recruit doctors. He said they would change the whole system.
