Qaim orders ending shortage of irrigation water in Badin

Badin: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has directed to the officers of Sindh Irrigation & Drainage Authority SIDA and Sindh Irrigation Department to ensure proper supply of Irrigation water to tailend area of district Badin within 3 to 4 days, failing which strict action would be taken against them.

Addressing an open katchery at local Circuit House, he directed DIG Police Hyderabad and Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad to keep their camp offices at Badin and extend full administrative support to the irrigation officers in supplying Irrigation water up to the tail end.

Sindh Minister Law Dr. Sikandar Mandhro, MNA Sardar Kamal Khan Chang, MPA Barrister Hasnain Mirza, MPA Bashir Halipoto, MPA Muhammad Nawaz Chandio, MPA Mir Allah Bux Talpur, Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Jamal Mustafa Syed, DIG Police Hyderabad Naeem Bhurka, Secretary Irrigation Babar Hussain Affandi, Deputy Commissioner Badin, Chief Engineer Rohri Canal, MD SIDA Ahsan Laghari, Director SIDA and other officers were present.

Qaim Ali Shah said that he has already taken notice of this situation but due budget sessions he couldn’t visit Badin at that time. He said he had directed to the Secretary Irrigation to visit the area, coordinate the growers and ensure that their problem of water shortage are resolved.

On a complaint of a grower Syed Attaullah Shah about running of direct outlets from the canals causing the water shortage, t Sindh Chief Minister directed the Deputy Commissioner Badin to visit the areas and solve the issue. He assured the growers that if these Direct Outlets were found as main cause for water shortage, the permission of the same would be cancelled.

Later, talking to the media, Qaim Ali Shah said that Badin is a stronghold of PPP. He said that he came here to listen to the problems of growers and resolve them.
