Rehman asks Punjab government to take action against banned organizations

Islamabad: Interior Minister Rehman Malik has asked the Punjab government to take action against the banned organizations in the province.

Talking to media persons in Islamabad on Tuesday he questioned as to what action has so for been taken by the Punjab Government against Lashkar-e-Jhangvi. He said that during the last four years several letters were written to the Punjab government regarding the terror activities of the organisation but no action was taken. The Minister said he will soon provide details of the activities of the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi to the people.

Rehman Malik said that Maulana Ahmed Ludhianvi called him and said that he had no connection with Lashkar-e-Jhangvi. The Minister said that Maulana Ahmed Ludhianvi should publicly announce his disassociation with Lashkar-e-Jhangvi. He said that banned organizations have now started their activities with new names.
