Rs 153,500 fine charged from profiteers

KARACHI: Karachi divisional and district administration have challaned 66 shopkeepers and charged Rs 153,500 for selling commodities above government rates. This was informed by Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui in a report issued on Tuesday pertaining to latest actions taken against profiteers in various parts of Karachi. He said that actions against profiteers were taken in Gulberg, North Nazimabad, Bin Qasim, Shah Faisal, Garden, Saddar and Gulshan-e-Iqbal. “Such actions would be continued against retailers until they sell their goods at government rates,” commissioner Karachi said.
