Rs 65,300 fine charged from profiteers

KARACHI: Karachi divisional and district administration have challaned 82 shopkeepers and charged Rs 65,300 fine from them for selling eatables above government rates.

This was informed by Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui in a report issued on Wednesday pertaining to latest actions taken against profiteers in various parts of Karachi. He said that actions against profiteers were taken in Landhi, Gulberg, Baldia, Airport, Orangi and Jamshed Quarters.

“Such actions would be continued against retailers until they sell their goods at government rates,” commissioner Karachi said.
