KARACHI: Caretaker Information Sind Noorul Huda Shah said on Wednesday that officers of information should work hard with honesty and should not leave today’s work for tomorrow.
Free and fair elections policy of the government is presented in the media so that public may know about its importance, she said while talking to the officers of information department during briefing. She also expressed that to meet new challenges of the current era development, the department should opt modern methods and procedures, especially as per the development in the media section. The information minister further said that departmental publications should not be limited to the government institutions rather it must be ensured that they reach the general public as well.
She emphasized that advertisement policy must be transparent and should be implemented on totally merit basis. During the briefing, the minister was briefed by Secretary Information Noor Mohammad Leghari about the functions of various directorates, including directorate of Press Information, Publications, Press, Reference and Research, Film, Automation and Electronic Media. Secretary Information also told the minister that grant of Rs 123 million for Press Clubs and Rs 103 million for various journalists financial grant has been released.
The minister expressed that rather than focusing on government personalities, importance of work should be properly carried so that the enthusiasm for work would get improved.
Director General Information Zulfiqar Shalwani, Directors of Information Department Ms Yasmeen Memon, Mehnaz Fatima, Mansoor Shaikh, Mansoor Rajput, Muhammad Yousuf Kabooro, Imtiaz Ali Joyo, Anita Baloch and other officers were also present during the briefing.
