SBCA renders bomb hit buildings unfit for human living

Karachi: Technical committee of Sind Building Control Authority SBCA for dangerous buildings has termed on building affected by Abbas Town bomb blast unfit for human living while other two buildings were declared fit for human residence only after heavy repair.

The committee in its report said the building of Iqra City Phase1 Block-D from ground floor shops to four upper residential floors was badly damaged and it needs razing and reconstruction as its RCC structure was damaged beyond repair. However, another building Iqra City Phase1 Block-E had sustained inner and outer damage and needs heavy repairs. Similarly, half building of Rabia Flower Block A3 had suffered heavy damage and it also needs extensive repair.

The committee advised that both the damaged buildings could be rendered fit for human living provided there repair is carried out by some expert license holder construction consultant.

The committee advised the general public to remain away from the damaged buildings.
