QUETTA: Supreme Court of Pakistan has asked Inspector General Frontier corps Balochistan and other organizations to recover missing persons by Tuesday. Additional Advocate General was asked if government was not extending cooperation then court may call Provincial Chief Executive.
The above order was passed by a 3 member bench of Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry while hearing case about missing persons at Quetta registry Monday.
Additional Attorney General Shah Khawar, Balochistan Chief Secretary Babar Yaqoob Fateh Muhammad, IG FC Balochistan Major General Muhammad Ejaz Shahid and IG Balochistan Police appeared in the court.
Chief Justice said FC is present at inch by inch but missing persons are not traceable and recovery of mutilated dead bodies was going on. He said all the missing persons with FC should be produced here tomorrow or reply in writing they can produce them or not.
Additional Attorney General submitted report about missing persons which the court rejected by describing it as unsatisfactory.
Chief Justice said matter of missing persons is the largest problem of the country. If country’s institutions continue to work people of Balochistan would not disappoint. Chief Justice said,” For sake of Allah follow constitution.” He said under the constitution no agency can keep any one under illegal detention nor it is allowed under any international conventions.
He asked Additional Attorney General and Advocate General if they cannot follow Court’s orders it should be told to the court so that concerned officials are called. He aid people are already saying there is no writ of government.
IG FC Major general Muhammad Ejaz Shahid told that he has recently assumed the charge and he would fully cooperate with the court.
Court adjourned hearing of suo motto notice about missing people’s case, explosion at police lien explosion, firing at Jama Farooqia and target killing of passengers in Mach till Tuesday.
Court while hearing suo motto notice of airing of setting ablaze Ziarat Residency ordered Chief Executive of the said TV Channel tomorrow.
A report on preparedness of Local Bodies polls was also submitted in the court during hearing of case about Local Bodies polls. Court while appreciating it directed for submitting final report within two weeks.
