SC orders to constitute joint team for removing encroachments in Karachi

The Supreme Court has ordered to constitute a joint team for removal of encroachments in Karachi.

During the hearing of the case about encroachments and illegal occupation of government land at the Karachi Registry today, the Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar summoned Mayor Karachi, heads of Cantonment Board and Karachi Development Authority and other concerned departments in the court tomorrow in this regard.

The court also issued notices to IG Sindh and DG Rangers in this regard.

The hearing will again be held on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the court also held the hearing of the case about operation in Pakistan Quarter.

The Chief Justice called the Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar at the rostrum and expressed his displeasure over the protest on the operation.

Justice Mian Saqib Nisar remarked that operation in Pakistan Quarters was against illegal occupants and not against any political party or ethnic group.
