Peshawar: In pursuance of the quest for sensitization of traffic safety for the public belonging to all strata of the society, sector M1 in a series of educational endeavours, on the directives of IGP, NH&MP and DIG Motorways, conducted a seminar at PAF Base, Peshawar on the occasion of Accident Prevention Week of Pakistan Air Force on 25032013 at 1100 hrs.
The rationale of this effort was to create and promote traffic awareness amongst the employees of Armed Forces.
The basic theme of this seminar was to tutor the officers and officials of PAF regarding Traffic Discipline.
In order to make this event a success, power point presentations were delivered, both in English and Urdu languages. A stall carrying road safety banners and materials pamphlets and booklets was also displayed on the occasion. The seminar started after recitation from the Holy Quran.
Thereafter, Mr. Hamid Nawaz, Senior Patrol Officer, delivered a detailed Power Point presentation on the subject. During the seminar, the audience was briefed about the working of NH&MP and its objectives and methodology.
A strong traffic Awareness/Road Accident Prevention massage was effectively conveyed by pictorial and graphical slides.
Movie clips enumerating road safety tips were also made part of the presentation. Awareness was inculcated in them regarding the ill effects of over speeding, the major causes of accidents, and benefits of the proper use of seat belt, pedestrian safety and safe driving.
After the seminar, the SSP M1, Muhammad Tahir, responded to the Q&A session followed by healthy discussions regarding traffic awareness with the officers of PAF.
The SSP M1 appreciated the role of Pakistan Air Force as the defenders of the skies of our beloved homeland.
He thanked the Base Commander and officers of PAF for providing the Motorway Police with the opportunity to visit the base and educate the officers and jawans on the eve of Accident Prevention Week of PAF.
SSP M1 also gave his notable comments regarding the working of NH&MP and the extraordinary efforts made by it for the awareness of the masses.
The Base Commander PAF Base, Peshawar, thanked the Motorway Police for conducting such a fruitful event at their venue and urged that it should carry on with the same practice.
At the end of the seminar, Crests were exchanged among SSP M1 and Base Commander, Air Commodore Waseem Hussain, PAF Base Peshawar.
