Shah Abdul Latif University to beef up security

KHAIRPUR: A meeting to review the security at Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur was held on Monday with Prof Dr Parveen Shah Vice Chancellor of the university in the chair.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr Parveen Shah said that peaceful, conducive and congenial atmosphere for the students and staff was vital because in the prevalance of peaceful environment, the academic work would flourish and the security mechanism

at the campus premises could be beefed up.

It was decided that despite financial crunch, the 10 security persons with latest weapons would be deployed at the main gate and the administration block, while additional rangers checkpoints would also be set at four building departments. A register may be kept at main entry point and entry of the vehicles may also be recorded at the main gate. The collaboration, cooperation and communication among police, rangers and university security staff be maintained.

The parking of vehicles be allowed outside the gate number 04. The entry of outsiders and ex-students be banned and Inspector General of Police may be approached to provide the separate police mobile for SALU police force.

The meeting was attended among others by Prof Dr Lutfullah Mangi Director Shikarpur Campus, Prof Dr Imdad Hussain Sahito Director Student Affairs, Prof Dr Mohamamd Yousuf Khushk Incharge Security Affairs, Prof Dr Syed Noor Shah Bukhari Provost Hostels, Syed Abdul Ghaffar Shah Rashdi Registrar, Mohammad Hassan Halipoto Burser, Mushtaque Khaskheli Chief Security Officer and officers of police and rangers.
