SHC forms cell to monitor by-elections

KARACHI: Sindh High Court SHC has set up election cell to coordinate with district returning officers, returning officers and assistant returning officers and also monitor their work in upcoming by-elections in Sindh.

Following the pronouncement of schedule for by-elections in Sindh in seven constituencies, SHC chief justice formed the election cell which will receive complaints regarding by-elections.

Election cell comprised Kausar sultana Hussain, member inspection team MIT –II and Fahim Ahmed Khan, additional registrar admin. The cell would be supervised by Justice Faisal Arab.

It would monitor the work of district returning officers, returning officers and assistant returning officers, and facilitate them on complaints received by them by coordinating with the election commission.

ECP has announced the schedule of by-elections in the province on three national assembly seats each in Sanghar-II NA235 Karachi NA254 and Thatta NA237 and four provincial assembly seats each in Shikarpur PS12 and Mirpurkhas PS64, while two seats in Karachi PS95 and 103.
