KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday ordered police to produce before it a man allegedly detained by Anti Car Lifting Cell (ACLC).
A division bench headed by Ghulam Sarwar Korai was hearing a petition filed by Syed Afsar Ali Shah, seeking recovery of his brother Jan Ali Shah, who was allegedly picked up by the sub-inspector Ilyas Shah of ACLC from Mirpur Bathoro, Thatta district.
The petitioner said that sub-inspector had arrested his brother on July 14 without any plausible reason and informed SHO concerned in Thatta. He said that ACLC police had illegally detained his brother, and the police was not producing his brother before the court. He prayed to court to direct the police to produce his brother before it.
The bench issued notice to SHO Mirpur Bathoro, Thatta and sub-inspector, ACLC and directed them to produce the detainee in the court.
