SHC restrain FIA from persecuting travel agent

Karachi: Sindh High Court on Wednesday restrained the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials from persecuting a travel agent. A division bench of SHC also issued notice to the director and deputy director FIA and other officials.

The petitioner Shoaib Ahmed, a travel agent, submitted that he was being harassed by the FIA officials; however, he added that he had never indulged himself in any illegal activity like human trafficking and forged visas.
Shoaib submitted that he has been nominated in FIRs which according to him had been lodged on false allegations, adding that he was released on bail in all cases. The court ruled that neither FIA officials shall persecute the petitioner not any FIR shall be registered against him till further orders. It adjourned the hearing of case to a date later be fixed by court office.
