SHC seeks prompt response to its queries

Karachi: The Sindh High Court SHC on Thursday observed that it is very unfortunate and disappointing to note that the highest law enforcing agencies do not pay any heed to the directions of the court.

Headed by Chief Justice, Mushir Alam, the division bench was seized with the petition of Mrs. Pali Khan who moved court for seeking whereabouts of his son Muhammad Ismail. She had submitted that her son had been missing since November 11, 2012. She had alleged that her son was picked up by the law enforcing agencies.

The court had directed the police to approach various federal and provincial agencies through email in this regard who on Thursday stated that no response on email has been received.

Muhammad Ashraf Mughal, DAG stated that he has already informed to all such agencies and he had sent letter to them. The court directed him to send copy of this letter to secretary of interior, ministry of defence and secretary home department to ensure that all the agencies working under their respective domains or linked up on email and otherwise electronically to expedite the prompt response to the queries raised by court.
