Sialkot city’s govt. colleges show poor results

Sialkot: Sialkot city’s five big government boys and girls colleges including Govt. Murray College Sialkot the alma mater of Poet of the East Allama Iqbal and Faiz Ahmed Faiz have shown unexpectedly very poor results in recently held annual exams of Intermediate Part-I held under the auspices of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Gujranwala.

According to the BISE Gujranwala official results, as many as total 3073 candidates of the abovementioned government colleges appeared in Intermediate Part-I annual exams recently held under the auspices of BISE Gujranwala, out of which 2340 candidates remained failed and the overall passing results remained only 26.25 percent this year.

As many as 1179 students of Govt. Murray College Sialkot the alma mater of Poet of the East Allama Iqbal and Faiz Ahmed Faiz appeared in Intermediate Part-I examinations this year , out of which only 280 students could pass these exams due to which the Murray College Sialkot’s result remained 23.55 percent this year.

Murray College’s 333 students of Economics Subject appeared in these exams out of which only 43 students could pass While, 260 students of General Group appeared in exams out of which only 45 students could pass with 12.91 percent result. As many as 545 students of Govt. Jinnah Islamia College Sialkot appeared in the abovementioned exams out of which 102 students could pass and 443 remained failed.

Govt. Allama Iqbal College for Women Sialkot’s 1053 students appeared in said exams out of which 692 students remained failed and 361 students could pass. This college’s 61 medical students appeared in exams out of which only seven students passed and 54 were failed, with this college’s total 18.71 percent result.

The intermediate result of Govt. Postgraduate College for Women Sialkot remained 31.23 percent , as this college’s 386 students appeared in the exams out of which only 90 students could pass.
