Karachi: Central Deputy Secretary Information PPP and Provincial Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that Sind Assembly has passed unanimously Sind Jinnah Medical University Bill and only two political parties National Peoples Party and MQM opposed the bill and boycotted the session.
While talking to media men here at Sind Assembly Building after assembly session, he said that the establishment of this University and management would be under Chief Minister Sind that would be promoting provincial autonomy under 18th amendment, and added that Dawood Engineering University bill has also been passed. “The opinion of the majority was to pass the bill for the promotion of the education.
He added, “Present democratic government intended to spread network of the Universities unprecedented in the history of Sind. Many cadet colleges and universities have been established that no other government did.”
All these efforts are milestone in fulfilling the hopes of the masses. On a question, minister said that it was a wrong perception that the copies of the bill were placed at few seats in the house. “To oppose the bill is a democratic right of members but it is unjust to say that copies of bill were not placed.
He said that Governor Sind has worked as a bridge between PPP and MQM and the Governor will approve this bill soon.
