Sindh CM asked to clear his stance over privatization

KARACHI:,,, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has demanded of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah to clear his position over the decision of the privatization of Power Project in the Council of the Common Interest (CCI) meeting.

In a statement, JI Karachi Chief strongly condemned the decision of CCI regarding the privatization of the national institutions.

Naeem further demanded a detail discussion over the issue of privatization at Senate, National Assembly and provincial assemblies.

He reiterated that the government should refrain itself from damaging the national assets and anti-labour policies.

On the occasion, JI Karachi Chief demanded of the Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to reject the policy of privatization in the larger interest of the country.

“The PML-N government is following the policies of previous government in order to please the United States, IMF and World Bank by taking anti-people and anti-labour steps”, he added.

He said that the privatization of the national institutions could not be possible if any of the provinces opposes the same, adding that it was really surprising that the decision regarding the privatization of the power project has been made despite the opposition of Sindh government.

He further urged that the PPP government would play its due role in opposing privatization of national institutions.
