Special Investigation Unit arrest three street criminals after encounter in Karachi

Karachi: A ream of Special Investigation Unit SIU/CIA, arrested three members of a gang of street criminals after the encounter near ICI Bridge at Mauripur Road, Karachi on Friday. The accused are involved in bank robberies and a number of street crimes.

The SIU team also recovered two pistols and a CNG rickshaw from the arrested criminals identified as Muhammad Shahid alias Shams alias Chachu, Shaukat Ali alias Aba and Muhammad Asif.

During the initial interrogation, the accused persons confessed robbing a UBL branch at Malir-15 along with other accomplices besides snatching cash and mobile phones from motorists at Sabzi Mandi, New Town, Bahadurabad, Tariq Road and other areas. They had also snatched cash from vehicles of salesmen.

The arrested accused persons are habitual criminals and had been jailed many times. Further investigation is underway.
