Sports: Hockey: Imran scores three as Pakistan beat NZ 43

Karachi: Muhammad Imran scored a hattrick to help greenshirts pull a 43 victory against New Zealand in the opening Azlan Shah Cup match on Saturday in Ipoh, Malaysia.

Skipper Imran scored three goals in the match in 19th, 28th and 58th minutes. The other goal came from Abdul Haseem Khan in the 21st minute.

For the losers, Russell Kane converted a penalty corner in the 30th minute, Tarrant Blair scored a field goal in the 52nd minute. Besides, a penalty corner conversion came from defender Hayward Andy in the 56th minute.

Pakistan will now face Australia on Sunday.
