Sports: Tennis: Mudassir, Arham qualify for Junior Tennis final

Karachi: Favorite Muhammad Mudassir and second seed Arham Atiq won their respective semifinal matches and confirmed their presence in the final of boys U18 singles event in Top City National Junior Ranking Tennis Championship at Syed Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex in Islamabad.

Top seed Muhammad Mudassir thrashed his younger brother Muhammad Muzammil in the pre-final encounter recording a 6-1, 6-0 victory.

Arham Atiq dispatched Hamza Bin Asif also in straight sets by 6-3, 6-2 score.

Meanwhile, Muzammil and Talha Bin Asif advanced into the final of boys U14 singles event after beating Aman Atiq by 6-1, 6-0 score and Hafiz Arbab Ali by 6-3, 6-2 score respectively.

Top seed Mahin Aftab will meet her elder sister Alina Aftab in the girls U18 singles final. Mahin Aftab won her match against Rayman Mumtaz without conceding a single game in both sets recording an immaculate 6-0, 6-0 victory.

Second seeded Alina Aftab dispatched Kynat Ejaz with identical 6-0, 6-0 score-line.

Second seed Aqib Omer clinched boys U12 title upsetting top seed Shoaib Khan in the final after a thrilling three-set encounter. Aqib recovered from a set down to record title winning 6-7, 6-4, 6-0 triumph.

Top seeded pair of Muhammad Mudassir and Muhammad Muzammil will face second seeded duo of Muhammad Ahmed and Zaid Mujahid in the boys doubles final on Thursday.
