SSA organizes Junior Squash tourney from 17th March

Karachi: Sindh Squash Association SSA is organizing PARCO Roshan Khan Junior Squash Open from 17th March here at Pakistan Navy Roshan Khan Jahangir Khan Squash Complex to acknowledge the contribution of Roshan Khan to the game of squash.

This championship is a Silver Event on the Asian Junior Super Series and is also registered with World Squash Federation as WSF World Junior Circuit Tier 3 event.

This is the first time ever in Pakistan’s squash history that a junior event is being registered with the World Squash Federation WSF. The Championship will be played in both boys &and girls categories and expecting entries from all over Pakistan. Participation of foreign players is also expected. The championship carries prize purse of USD 10,000.

The tournament will be competed in U11, U13, U15, U17 and U19 categories among boys and girls separately.

Accommodation will be provided to all the players. The last date of entries is 21st February.

Wearing of protective eye wear is mandatory during the matches. They must be manufactured to an appropriate standard and worn properly over the eyes at all times during play.

Roshan Khan was born on September 27th in 1927 at Naude Payan village near Peshawar. He had won many national and international squash championships in Pakistan and around the world. His biggest achievement was when he had won the British Open crown in the year 1956 by beating Hashim Khan in the final. The great squash legend died on 6th January 2006.
