KARACHI: Anti-Terrorism Court-I (ATC-I) on Wednesday recorded the statement of a witness in the taxi driver murder case.
Witness, duty officer Mahmood Afzal stated that when he reached their Lance Naik Ghulam Rasool and his accomplices Barkat Ali, Waqar Ahmed and Qadeer Abbas were present there, while the injured Murid Abbas was rushed to a private hospital.
Lance Naik Ghulam Rasool of Pakistan Rangers, Sindh was booked for allegedly killing taxi driver Murid Abbas in Gulistan-e-Jauhar on July 16, 2013.
According to the prosecution, the taxi driver was allegedly shot dead by Rangers in Gulistan-e-Jauhar on July 16, 2013 when he reportedly did not stop his vehicle upon being signalled to do so. The hearing was adjourned till February 19, 2014.
A case (FIR No 468/2013) was registered under Sections 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of Pakistan Penal Code at Gulistan-e-Jauhar police station on the widow’s complaint.
