Supreme Court’s jurisdiction should be extended to Fata

Peshawar: For the last twelve years the tribal belt has been passing through a very crucial situation of its history. The worst law and order situation has paralyzed routine life of the tribesmen. This was stated by Jamaate Islam JI Fata chapter Ameer, Haroon Rashid while addressing a workers’ convention held here in Jamrud the other day.

Haroon Rashid said, since long the tribal people have been deprived of the basic human rights and the prevailing uncertain circumstances have made the tribesmen mentally and psychologically abnormal.

He said the elected parliamentarians from Fata have made their ways to parliament through money and are not serious to address the problems being faced by the tribesmen. They are interested to safeguard their own capital rather than to
serve the problems struck masses, he blamed.

Haroon Rashid of JI said like elsewhere in the country, local bodies’ elections should be conducted in Fata so that the tribesmen could also elect their representatives in a democratic way. He also came hard on lack of basic necessities and poor performance of the political administration and other departments and said that dilapidated condition of Pak-Afghan road and excessive load shedding has made the masses’ life miserable.

JI Secretary Fata Munsef khan, Dr. Samiullah, Jan Masood and Shah Jehan were also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile in a traffic accident seven FC personnel were seriously injured when their jeep collided with a cement loaded trailer in Khyber area of Landikotal. The seriously injured personnel were shifted to Peshawar in helicopter.
Administration sources said.

Separately, a local resident of Khyber Shaheen Shah complained that there was a shortage of doctors in Landikotal hospital. He said that only three doctors were present on duty whereas the rest were missing.
