Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 61% Pakistanis say their children aged ten years or less have been vaccinated against measles.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from urban and rural areas across the four provinces was asked “How many children aged less than ten years are there in your house” Responding to this, 23% said one, 26% said two, 9% said three, 6% said four or more children whereas 34% said none. 2% did not respond.
Respondents were further asked “Do you remember if these children have been vaccinated against measles” Responding to this, 61% said yes, 22% said no whereas 17% did not give a response.
The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.
The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2635 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during July 01, 2013 – July 08, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 23 per cent at 95% confidence level.
