A task force consisting of law enforcement agencies and intelligence agencies has been constituted for decisive action against the gold mafia and smuggling of precious metals.
A major crackdown has already been initiated against the Gold Mafia by the task force.
The task force has also prepared the lists of elements involved in gold smuggling mafias.
Apart from this, the government has started work on an emergency basis to bring the gold dealers into the tax net and to computerize buying and selling of gold.
