Peshawar: Teachers of various schools of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday announced to stage protest sit-in outside parliament house Islamabad on 13 February if their demands were not accepted till Feb12.
The announcement was made by Kherullah Khawari, vice chairman of Muttahida Mahaz Asatiza Pakistan (MMAP) during a press conference at press club.
He said that recommendations had presented to central government by pay and pension commission which including 100 percent increase in salaries, scales revision, 50 percent rent house allowance and promotion on the basis of high education.
Flanked by Shamshad Khan Jhagra, Siraj Khan Chamkani and others teachers, he informed that in second phase of their protest series they would also boycott of Intermediate and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) of board examinations.
While in third phase, he said they would not perform their duties in upcoming national and provincial general elections. He added that they had met with federal minister Syed Khursheed Shah in this matter and the minister assured them but totally ignored in the budget.
He claimed that on the call of MMAP millions of teachers across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) would participate in the protest sit-in.
