QUETTA: Spokesman of Balochistan Chief Minister Jan Mohammad Buledi, MPAs Yasmeen Lehri and Nasrullah Zeray while addressing the participants of a gathering organized by a semi government organization Peace Spark and SPO have said that by increasing the budget for education the government has shown its affection for education, administration, teachers, organizations, parents and students must play their role for improving the educational system.
With the help of NADRA those who are performing double duties would be pointed out. Teachers are getting better salaries and other facilities than employees of other departments and still if they are not performing their duties than they are playing with the future of the next generation.
Speakers told that the present government came into office at that time when the work on the provincial budget was in its closing stages even then they worked day in and day out and by consideration it enhanced the educational budget and made it sure that the corruption and other leakage to be stopped and the budget to be used in its true sense and sprite. Even in the presence of mafia in P&D and finance department the government team saved 80 billion rupees from getting waste. Now the government is trying to chalk out a transparent and clear system for transfer and postings.
It is quite shameful that a JV teacher which is getting more facilities than a MPA do not want to go to its transfer posting. SST getting more than one lac per month.
The previous conservative thinking of the rulers and others is responsible for the low standard of education. Those who worked for the promotion of the madaris spread negative thinking about modern education and particularly to that of female education.
By removing political influence in the education department the situation can be improved. Majority of teachers out of fifty four thousand which are employees of twelve thousand schools are getting their salary by sitting abroad.
On the occasion the officers of education department informed that more than eighty percent of the budget goes in the head of salaries and out of the salaries budget ninety percent goes in the salaries of the primary teachers. In the province for girls students there are 2849 schools, 369 are middle and 176 high. It is needed to encourage private public partnership.
The participants suggested to impose educational emergency in the province, the employment of teachers through public service commission and bounding the employees of education department to enrol their children in the government institutes.
Provincial chairman of SPO Mukhtar Jhalgary was the host while Hyder Baloch coordinated the programme. Large number of people from different walks of life attended the gathering.
