Three gunned down in different areas of Karachi, seven injured in grenade attack at police station

Karachi: At least seven persons including four policemen and recruits were injured in hand grenade attack near Khawaja Ajmernagri police headquarters while three persons were gunned down in different parts of city on Sunday morning.

A large number people were standing in queue for recruitment in police department when miscreants hurled the grenade. The injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed hospital.

DSP Shair Muhammad said that two motorcycle riders targeted the headquarters with hand grenade, as a pin of the hand grenade was found near the place of incident. He further said that the hand grenade was Russian made and it doesn’t contain the deadly ball bearings.

Four policemen were performing their duty at the gate of the headquarters. Among the injured the condition of two policemen is serious, police said.

Meanwhile, three people were gunned down in different areas as violence continues in the city. According to police, a 25yearold political activist, identified as Aamir, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen near Shoe Market, Garden. Tension prevails in the area after the incident.

A bullet riddled body of a youth was found near Raxer Bridge while in Ranchhore Line, gunmen killed a head constable, Muhammad Aslam.

In a firing incident at Jehangir Road, two men, Ghulam Mustafa and Shakil were reported injured.
