Karachi: Three people including a policeman and a member of Tablighi Jamaat were killed in different firing incidents in Karachi on Thursday.
A 40year old Police Constable PC Ghayasuddin, son of Fayyaz, was killed and 35yearsold PC Saleem injured in firing by unidentified armed dacoits near Karimabad area, within the remit of Azizabad Police Station.
The body and injured were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital ASH.
The police said armed men were snatching vehicle from a citizen when two patrolling constables challenged them. The dacoits sensing the danger opened firing on the cops which was also retaliated by police. However, Ghayasuddin and Saleem were injured and rushed to ASH where Ghayas died during treatment. The dacoits managed to flee from the scene.
Separately, the body of 21year old, Amjad, son of Behram, was found from Bihar Colony, Lyari Town, within the precincts of Chakiwara police station. The rescue sources said the hands and legs of the victim were tied up with a rope.
The body was moved to Civil Hospital Karachi for an autopsy.
The police said victim received two bullets in upper torso. The victim was Zikri by caste and suspected that he might be killed over his alleged link with Zikri Gangster Group. Police quoting the family said he had been missing since last night and his body was found in morning. The victim was resident of Kalakot, Street number5.
Similarly, 28yearsold Hafiz Kaleemullah, son of Yameen, was killed by unidentified armed men near Nazimabad No2, within the jurisdiction of Gulbahar Police Station.
The body was shifted to ASH for medicolegal formalities.
The police said victim was member of Tablighi Jamaat. Investigation was underway to ascertain the motive behind the killing.
