Three newly appointed SHC judges take oath

Karachi: After the consent of President Asif Ali Zardari, three newly appointed judges of the Sindh High Court SHC took oath on Tuesday as permanent judges of the SHC.

As per details, the Chief Justice of SHC, Justice Mushir Alam administered the oath to Justice Nisar Muhammad Sheikh, Justice Nadeem Akhtar and Justice Shafi Siddiqui.

Justice Nadeem Akhtar, Nisar Muhammad Sheikh and Justice Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui were appointed as additional judges of SHC. On February 7, 2013 meeting of parliamentary committee was held to consider the recommendations for appointing three judges, Nisar Muhammad Shaikh, Nadeem Akhtar and Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui of SHC on the permanent basis.

Parliamentary committee had recommended only name of Nisar Muhammad Shaikh as permanent judge of SHC, however names of the two judges were not recommended for confirmation.

Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday confirmed nomination of Justice Nisar Muhammad Shaikh, Justice Nadeem Akhtar and Justice Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui as permanent judges of the Sindh High Court.
