Three prisoners escape from ATC court; three cops held

KARACHI: Three prisoners escaped from the lockup at the Anti-Terrorism Court ATC, within the limits of Preedy Police Station, here on Thursday.

According to police, the three prisoners were able to flee from the washroom of the lockup No 2 in the premises of the Anti-Terrorism Court due to carelessness of the three officials who had brought them from Karachi Central Jail.

The three prisoners were identified, Ammar, Arsalan, son of Shahnawaz and Zubair, son of Abdul Ghafoor. They were booked in kidnapping for ransom and other crimes. Two of the prisoners were said to be part of ongoing gang war in Karachi.”

A case has been registered against three officials of court police, namely Inspector Shakir, constable Saeed and Munir Ayub over carelessness on the complaint of a police official, Zulfiqar Ali, said a duty official of Preedy police.
