Train service temporarily suspended due to sit-in on track

Karachi: The train service here Monday was temporarily suspended when a sit-in was staged on rail track on the call of Shia Ulema Council to protest the killings of innocent people in Quetta bomb blast.

Thousands of passengers including families braved immense problems when the departure of Shalimar Express, Hazara Express, Awam Express and other trains was cancelled as mob had occupied railway track at Malir-15 area. Moreover, many down trains were stopped at different stations due to non-clearance of track.

The railway opened special counter to return back money to passengers who had got booked seats in the cancelled trains.
