Transporters decry decision to raise CNG, petrol prices

KARACHI: Karachi Transport Action Committee President Mohammad Ashraf Banglori on Sunday flayed government for its decision to raise the prices of CNG and petroleum products from September 01 and demanded its immediate withdraw so as to provide relief to transporters and commuters.

In a statement, they asked the government not to increase the prices of CNG and petroleum products. They said the present government has not only raised oil prices in short span of its tenure but also made alarming rise in the tax, gas and power rates, which had put heavy burden on people.

“The people are being punished for voting political parties. There is no justification to raise the CNG and petroleum products’ prices,” they added.
