Transporters demand restoration of old oil prices

KARACHI: Karachi Transport Action Committee President Mohammad Ashraf Banglori, Chaudhry Mazhar Hussain and Tanzeem Khan on Sunday demanded of the government to withdraw tax imposed on petroleum products.

In a statement, they said that Karachi transport fraternity rejects raise in General Sales Tax and demand restoration of old prices of petroleum products.

They said imposing tax on poor people is injustice. “The raise in GST and oil prices would never end price hike. The government should stop making anti-people decisions.”

The transport leaders said that the government should fulfil promises it made with people before election and provide them relief.
