TTP backbone broken, says Rehman Malik

Sialkot: Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik said that PPP government has broken the backbone of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) through effective anti-terrorism strategy and now country was moving towards the goal of durable peace and political and economical stability.

He has urged the nation to be united for uprooting the terrorism and militancy from the country, claiming that the governments’ anti-terrorism effective measures including the 3D policy were helping to control the terrorism in the country.

He stated this while addressing the participants of an important meeting held at the auditorium of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) after inaugurating the newly established passport office at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) along with the Federal Minister for National Regulation and Services Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan here.

MPA Tahir Mehmood Hundali, senior officials of FIA, NADRA and Immigration departments were also present on this occasion.

He claimed that the government has controlled the terrorism to great extant in Quetta and now every thing was cool and calm every where in Pakistan except Karachi.

He said that situation would soon become normal in Karachi as the government had adopted all the effective and rapid response option to eliminate terrorism in Karachi with a sole to make Karachi against a peaceful city and economical hub of Pakistan.

Later, talking to the newsmen at SCCI, Rehman Malik, the son of soil of Sialkot, revealed that there was no doubt that the PPP government was making all the effective measures to secure the lives and properties of the people across the country and it was also the national obligation of all the powers in the state to come forward and play their pivotal role and be united to quell terrorism and militancy from the country.

He pledged to bring peace every where in Pakistan at every cost, urging the political opponents to do politics on terrorism for political point scoring. He claimed to be the longest ever serving interior minister of the country.

Earlier, Rehman Malik and Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan inaugurated the two more regional passport offices at Sialkot district. One passport office has been established at village Jajjey Sahiyaan (the native village of interior minister Rehman Malik) in out skirts of Sialkot to entertain the local people.

While, a regional passport office has also been established at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) to entertain the Sialkot business community there, as the NADRA office has also been established at SCCI for Sialkot business community.
