KARACHI: Two students of Defence Authority College for Women DCW Phase VIII who clinched top positions in the Intermediate Gen Science Group Examination of Karachi Board this year were honoured in a simple ceremony held at DHA Main Office here on Tuesday.
Musafirah Abdullah and Ayesha Nawab of DHA College for Women got second and third positions respectively in the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi’s Inter Gen Science Examination 2013 held this year. Administrator DHA Brig Muhammad Abdullah gave away cash award and certificates of distinction to the two outstanding students for their brilliant academic performance.
Brig Abdullah stressed upon the significance of achieving highest standards of learning and teaching through knowledge based education. He said that excellence in all fields of learning was essential to achieve success in life. He added that he expected the students of DHA educational institutions to strive for excellence in learning and to go forth to serve the society with honour and distinction.
Musafirah speaking on the occasion attributed her success to her persistent and regular hard work. She said that the inspiration and guidance provided by her teachers enabled her to bag the distinguished position. She was of the view that the culture of rigorous academic discipline, punctuality and intellectually stimulating learning environment at the College Campus played a pivotal role in her success.
Prof Dr Farhat Agha, Principal DCW said that her institution was committed to achieve the goals of excellence in academics and co curricular fields. She reiterated that DCW was maintaining its rich traditions of academic excellence and the College students were securing top positions incessantly in different examinations at the Board and University levels. Dir Education DHA, Commodore R Talib Hussain was also present on the occasion.
