Two gunned down in city

Karachi: Two people, including a retired sub inspector, was shot dead in the city on Monday. A 62yearold retired Sub inspector of police, Muhammad Bux Jatoi, son of Abdul Ghafoor Jatoi, was gunned down and his son Kashif Jatoi, 20, injured in firing by unidentified armed men near Orangi No 13, within the remit of Pakistan Bazaar police station.

The body and injured were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital ASH for medicolegal formalities and treatment, respectively. Pakistan Bazaar police said the victim received five bullets in upper torso and died before he could be taken to hospital, while his son was also injured in the incident.

Separately, a 35yearold man, Iqbal, son of Ghulam Rasool, was shot dead by unidentified armed men in ZMC area of Orangi Town, within the jurisdiction of Mominabad police station.

Mominabad police said the victim received one bullet in his head which proved fatal for him. Police said Iqbal was ex-councillor of area and also associated with a political party.
