Two killed, one injured in Karachi violence

KARACHI: Two people were killed and one other injured in separate violence incidents in the city on Tuesday. A 28-year-old man was killed in alleged an encounter with Rangers in Nazimabad Block 1.

According to Rangers spokesman, armed motorcyclist opened fire on the patrolling vehicle of Rangers in Nazimabad Block 1. The paramilitary force retaliated to the firing in which the attacker was killed on the spot. The killed was identified as Arif. He was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for an autopsy.

The spokesman said that a pistol was also recovered from the accused possession.

In another incident, unidentified men opened fire in Khuda ki Basti area in Surjani Town, killing Mohammad Zahid, son of Mohammad Tahir. The victim was the resident of People’s Town.

The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

A 27-year-old man sustained bullet wounds in Raees Amrohi Colony in Orangi Town when armed attackers opened fire at him. He was identified as Shafqat, son of Liaquat.

The injured was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.
