Two more fall prey to Karachi target killing

KARACHI: Two people were gunned down in different parts of the city on Tuesday.
Azmat, 55, son of Ghulam Shabbir Bengali, was killed in firing by unknown armed men in Chakra Goth, Korangi No.1, within the jurisdiction of Zaman Town police station.

The body was moved to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities. Azmat was on his way to somewhere in car when he was shot dead. The police said the victim received a bullet in his upper torso and died on the spot.

Separately, a 47-year old man, Essa, son of Ghulam Muhammad, a resident of Lyari, was gunned down by unidentified armed men near Russian Embassy, Clifton, within the remit of Boat Basin police station. The body was brought to JPMC for a postmortem.

The police suspected that a personal enmity might be the cause of murder. The police also recovered a pistol from the car of the victim.
