UHS declares entrance test results (Daily Times (Pakistan))

University of Health Sciences (UHS) on Friday declared the result of entrance test 2015 for admission to medical and dental colleges of the Punjab. A total of 46,885 candidates appeared in the entrance test held on August 30, out of which 19,283 scored 60 percent and above marks. 6,891 scored 50 to 59 percent, whereas 6,490 candidates secured 40 to 49 percent marks, while 14,221 candidates scored less than 40 percent marks. It is pertinent to mention that according to Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) regulations, the pass/fail criteria has been abolished for the medical colleges’ entrance test. According to reports, Noorus Sabah Ahmad from Lahore got the first position securing 1076/1100 marks, whereas Muhammad Hassan Naveed of Lahore and Samabia Javed of Faisalabad bagged second and third position by securing 1065/1100 and 1059/1100 marks respectively. The eligible candidates will compete for 3,405 MBBS and 216 BDS seats in 20 public sector medical and dental colleges respectively. The admission forms for government medical and dental colleges will be available from October 1 to October 10. Students who have secured 82 percent marks and above will be eligible to apply for admission on open merit basis, as per the recommendation of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council. The first selection list will be displayed on October 30, whereas classes in all public sector medical colleges of the Punjab will commence on November 16.
