Islamabad: Utility Stores Corporation has recorded an increase of Rs. 1.371 billion in sales during the first fifteen days of Ramazan Relief Package RRP 2013 as compared to the same period last year. This is a substantial increase of 20% from the preceding year.

According to the sales reports received from the utility stores all over the country, the USC has recorded total sales of Rs. 8.004 billion in the first 15 days of RRP 2013 while last year during the same period USC could manage sales of Rs 6.632 billion thus striking an increase of Rs. 1.371 billion.

The Minister for Industries & Production, Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi said Thursday that the increase in the sales is a testimony to the standards maintained by the USC. He said that all efforts are being made to run Ramazan Relief Package smoothly.

The minister said that immediate instructions were issued to the concerned officers to redress the issues regarding RRP which were either reported in the media or conveyed to the Complaint Cells. The supply line from the warehouses to the stores is being further strengthened for swift and timely supply of commodities to the stores, he said.

Mr. Jatoi, said that Ramazan Relief Package was first introduced by the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s government in 1991 and this government will continue on the good legacies of its previous terms.
