Verification of voters: JI takes out rally against non-implementation of SC verdict

Jacobabad, Sindh: The local chapter of Jamaat-e-Islami organized a rally and staged sit-in here on Sunday to register protest against non-implementation of Supreme Court verdict regarding verification of voters’ lists in Karachi under the supervision of army.

The rally, led by Deedar Ali Lashari, Saleh Soomro and other JI leaders, marched from JI office to DC roundabout near press club and blocked road by staging sit-in. The JI activists chanted slogans.

The JI leaders addressing the protesters alleged that verification of voters was carried again under the MQM supervision which is part of prepoll rigging. They rejected the electoral lists and announced continuing protest.
