Karachi: Waheed Baloch played another round of twounderpar in the final round to claim professional event title in UMA 18th CNS Open Golf Championship here Sunday at Karachi Golf Club.
Waheed came into limelight during the championship in the third round after he came from behind to take the lead on the table after playing two par rounds on the first two days and then shot a twounderpar 70 in the third round.
Waheed took his form from the third round to the final on Sunday and shot another twounderpar 70 grossing fourunderpar 284 after four rounds to claim the title of the tournament, which offers the biggest prize purse of Rs 5.1 million in the history of the game in the country.
Ahmed Saeed secured second place after grossing oneunderpar 287.
Defending champion Muhammad Shabbir Iqbal fell to third place even after scoring impressive fiveunderpar 72 in the first round. Shabbir finished with a score of 288. He jointly sits with Matloob Ahmed at third place.
Afsar Ali, who secured second place after third round results, finished at lowly fifth place eventually grossing oneoverpar 289.
