Walk held to raise awareness regarding dengue

THATTA: KMC Metropolitan Commissioner Samiuddin Siddiqui said on Monday that the efforts against dengue from KMC would produce positive outputs.

He said this while addressing the participants of a walk held at sea view in collaboration with KMC and Ghausia Welfare Organization. Various NGOs representatives, renowned artists and people from different sectors were present on the occasion.

Metropolitan Commissioner said that KMC was holding various programs for prevention from dengue fever at schools level whereas awareness for prevention from dengue and other diseases was being provided through seminars, pamphlets and utility bills.

He said that spray campaign was also underway at various locations of the city in morning and evening times which was being carried out on constant basis and KMC was taking all possible measures to curb dengue fever. He said chemical control spray and biological control were also being utilized under which Guppy Fishes to curb mosquitoes breeding were being poured in ponds, pools and other locations.

He said that a special cell consisting of 50 beds in Abbasi Shaheed Hospital was also working with reference to dengue fever where facilities of tests and treatment were available.
