WAPDA clinches National junior hockey title

Karachi: WAPDA brushed aside NBP in the summit clash registering 20 victory to clinch the title of 32nd Junior U21 National Hockey Championship on Thursday at the Faisalabad Hockey Stadium, Faisalabad.

Asad Bashir scored the first goal of the match in the 12th minute to put WAPDA 10 up. The first half ended with WAPDA leading the match 10.

Mohammad Umair doubled the lead for WAPDA in the 63rd minute. WAPDA kept the 20 lead intact till the referee blew the final whistle to claim the title of the event.

Earlier, SSGC overcame PIA recording a 32 victory to secure third position in the tournament. Arslan Sherazi, Sohail and Mohammad Asif scored one goal each for SSGC.

Rizwan Ali and Nohaiz Malik scored one goal each for PIA in the third place playoff.
