Water level souring up in river Chenab near Sialkot

Sialkot: After remaining calm and cool for last two days there was an increase in water level in River Chenab at Head Marala-Sialkot due to the ongoing fresh spell of heavy monsoon rains in all the catchment areas of neighbouring Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the District Officer (Coordination) Sialkot Malik Abid Hussain Awan the level of flood water on Tuesday increased to 72959 cusecs n River Chenab at Head Marala near Sialkot from overnight’s 62000 cusecs. However, the situation was stated to be normal by the concerned officials of Sialkot Irrigation Department here.

While the water level also dropped to a great extant in River Tavi to 3533 cusecs from over night’s 6163 cusecs water flow there in River Tavi near Saidpur-Bajwat here today. He added that the flood level was also receding in flooded Naullahs Aik and Dek here, as the flow of flood water was 3000 cusecs in Naullah Dek and 800 cusecs in Naullah Aik.
