Women University opens after 24 days

QUETTA: Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University was opened after 24 days here Wednesday. Students staged dharna at University premises over death of their colleagues and faulty security arrangements. They shouted slogans against University management.

According to details Women University was opened after 24 days here today. It was closed following a bomb blast in bus in which more than 14 girls were killed and several others were injured. One of the girls is still missing and her whereabouts were still unknown.

When students came to University today, they staged protest demonstration and held a sit in inside University. Atmosphere on the occasion was very sad and touching. Girls were weeping by remembering their colleagues departed in the explosion.

They said if administration was aware of threats earlier why effective security arrangements were not mad. Stringent steps should be taken against responsible people. They said those involved in bomb explosion were cowardice people. Targeting women and girls is not work of men. They also demanded action against former Vice Chancellor of University.
Later after talks with new Vice chancellor girls ended their protest.

Administration told that close circuit cameras have been installed in the University and a security guard has been posted at every bus. Students and others are allowed entry after thorough body search. Balochistan constabulary personnel have been posted inside and outside University for security.
