Peshawar: A high level delegation of the World Bank under the Head of Country Director Pakistan Rashid Bin Massoud, called on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Muhammad Shehzad Arbab to discuss the development priorities and outcomes that the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa aims to achieve in the coming 3 – 5 years and to seek help for World Bank’s support to the province.
Besides others the meeting was attended by Director Human Development World Bank Headquarter Washington Jesko Henthchel, Ms. Shabana Khawar IFC and Additional Chief Secretaries Finance and P&D Department, Govt: of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other concerned authorities of the provincial government.
The Head of the delegation Rashid Bin Massoud highly appreciated the meeting and said that it would help also to identify themes for further engagements.
While highlighting purpose of the meeting, Rashid said that its first aim was to seek provincial government’s development vision and goal for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in coming five years and secondly to seek support priority outcomes and transformational agenda to achieve the vision.
On the occasion, jobs, governance, human development and energy were decided as support priorities. Action plan to enhance growth and create job opportunities for growing population was also discussed in the meeting.
The Chief Secretary Shahzad Arbab while expressing gratitude to the World Bank team on its special interest in the development of the province and hoped that the engagements of mutual interest would also be continued in the future.
