26% Pakistanis believe employment brings peace and satisfaction in life: Poll

Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 26% Pakistanis believe employment brings peace and satisfaction in life; 24% say the same for religion.

A nationally representative sample of men and women, from across the four provinces was asked “In your opinion, what can create peace and satisfaction in a person’s life?” Responding to this, 16% said money, 26% said employment and 11% said peace in the world.

24% of the respondents replied religion, 11% mentioned being near family and 7% said accepting the economic situation as God’s will beings peace and satisfaction.

3% responded living in another country whereas 2% mentioned being loved by someone you love.

The study was released by Gilani Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.

The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2629 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during Jan 20, 2014 – Jan 27, 2014. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
